Tristan is the baby of the pack. He goes to College, he works at the diner and he patrols the pack territory to protect it from their enemies. He was fostered by the Beta since he was fourteen. He is loyal and will fight to protect his pack. So when he is kidnapped, although all hope was lost, he had enough to stay strong even knowing he was going to die. Colby has been with the Beta of Cale's Pack for three years. Their relationship started out good. Colby had been discharged from the Army and immediately fell into a relationship with Nico. But that relationship became abusive and controlling in the worst way. Nico is vcious as the Beta to all. Nico degraded and berated Colby until he was broken in spirit and just concentrated on the unattainable task of keeping Nico happy.
Colby sees Tristan and is drawn to the young wolf, he sneaks him food and water but they both pay a price for that. Colby knows if he doesn't get Tristan out he will die. Ultimately they both go and make it back to Urban's Pack, Tristan's home. But the pack are suspicious of Colby. He knows he must run far and fast to escape Nico, but he is drawn to Tristan and Tristan is drawn to him. They are mates and Colby wants to be with his mate and have a home where he isn't abused, berated, belittled and controlled. Will the pack let him stay or will they think he is a threat? What happens next is not something any of them anticipated - who or what is out there that they have to protect themselves from?
This series in well written and builds the characters up for us through each book in the series. You need to read them in turn to realise who the characters are in each book. It is an entertaining read that keeps you interested and guessing. Looking forward to the next one.

Wow! What a start! I kept holding my breath to the point my husband reminded me to breath before I passed out.

I think this story was well written all the way through. I love the plot because it is a little different and refreshing in terms of other shifter romance stories.

What is there not to love Tristan, who is the perfect mate for Colby! Tristan’s kidnapping makes the story refreshingly different for me because he is so incredibly strong, an unbeatable shifter, but still only a young male desperate to escape his kidnappers.

The other hero, Colby is another lovable character who is refreshingly different to me. Colby is an ex-soldier who’s lost his self-confidence because of suffering from domestic violence. Breaking away from the abusive and toxic relationship seemed simply impossible for him until Tristan was brought, beaten and abused, to the camp where Colby lives. Tristan's desperate situation is the last straw for Colby to gather the courage to rescue Tristan and get away from his violent partner. I love how these two meet and escape.

Red Moon Rising focuses on Colby's wounded hero status. Whilst there is a lot of suspense, drama, love, and sensuality, this story still continues to pay attention to this wounded hero to overcome his abusive past.

The other thing I really enjoy is how Tristan matured yet remained playful and youthful around Colby. That was really sweet and endearing to read.
Strength of the Pack 3 Red Moon Rising by Joy Lynn Fielding is an very intense read. Also should not be read as a stand alone. Many of the people we know and love are in this book, and the pack politics is building in this book too. So you really need to read them in order to understand everything. We have Tristan who is captured by the enemy pack. Tristan is so very naïve and a mouth that will get him killed one day. I do not think that werewolf knows how to stop talking. Even when he is getting beat up for it. But Tristan is also very endearing. I found his sunshine attitude fun and sweet. He is a nice person with a good soul.
Colby wow, where to start. Abused beyond belief. He still has a good heart despite what he has endured. I will say Colby is not for the faint of heart. His character is abused heavily. It helped me understand his personality and why he would go to such lengths to free Tristan. Also helps me understand him later on in the series. He is quiet but gentle soul. Braver than even he knows.
I loved this story I feel it is a vital part of the overall series. It has a great romance but also we are finding out other things we need to know. I love the relationships and friendships the wolf pack has. I think this series is a must read for any werewolf shifter lover Ms Fielding does a great job of combining romance with a story that keeps me wanting more.

Five Shooting Stars
If you liked one and two in this series, then you're really going to reading this story. I was expecting it's release on yet so it came as a very nice surprise. Reread the end of book number two Liars Moon (as if I needed a excuse to revisit one of my new favorite authors) and it flowed right into number three. Beware of the blood red moon. Ms Fielding turned a horrible situation into a opportunity for two shifters to find each other, some courage, and a chance to live a life neither had dreamt possible even a day ago. This is Tristian's story and I couldn't be more pleased. His mate had to overcome so much to be with him, but his love for and trust in Tristan made it all possible. Now if he can only get the rest of the protective pack to trust him with their "baby's" heart, not to mention his body.
